With so many e-readers and iPads on holiday wish lists, a cool cover or case for your new gadget is the next step for many keyboard cover suppliers.
It’s the best way to carry around your new item to protect it from bumps and scratches. Luckily, there are loads of styles and sizes available.
One of the biggest makers of covers is DODOCase, a San Francisco company that creates cases for iPads and iPhones, BlackBerries and Kindles using bookbinding techniques and eco-friendly products, including bamboo. Prices ranges from $49.95 to $89.95. The company will even monogram your keyboard cover for $9.95 using a foil-stamping technique.
Barnes & Noble, which sells the Nook e-reader, also offers a great selection of cases for the device including styles by designers Jonathan Adler and Kate and Jack Spade.
Adler’s bold Blue Chevron cover for the Nook Color and Nook Tablet ($39.95) features a canvas lining plus inside pockets to store notes and cards. Look for them in Barnes & Noble stores, including the one at Hamburg Place in Lexington.
Vera Bradley, makers of quilted bags and keyboard skin cover, now offers a collection of sleeves for iPads, e-readers and laptops too, sporting the company’s signature colorful patterns.
And just like the company’s traditional bags, the sleeves feature contrasting fabrics on the inside, looking just as fashionable whether open or closed. Prices range from $24 to $32 for an e-reader sleeve and up to $45 for a 17-inch laptop cover.
