While there are some awesome iPhone accessories that make our daily lives easier, some are just the worst, to borrow a saying from Tina Fey.The most recent completely unnecessary iPhone accessory to hit the market is the iPhone bugle horn. The accessory attaches to the bottom of the iPhone and projects music through the bugle-horn-shaped plastic speaker. As seen in the video above, the horn does little to pump up the volume, in comparison with the sound emitted from the iPhone’s built-in speakers. Instead, the accessory, which comes in black or white, appears to be built more for aesthetic purposes than bass-blasting speaker quality.
The bugle horn is merely the latest in a long line of wacky accessory ideas ready-made for the newest version of the iPhone. Last month, we reviewed a “playa case” that can discreetly hide condoms. Another favorite for accessories for iPad suppliers who need to crack a beer on the go: the iPhone bottle opener (alternately, you could just use an iPad charger).Believe it or not, the bugle speaker is not even the first horn accessory for the iPhone — remember the horn stand?

iHome has been making some interesting iPad accessories for a long time now, and the company has a new one that has launched called the iDM5. This new device is a Bluetooth keyboard, charger, and speaker bar. The design reminds me a lot of the Commo
dore 64 from 80s. The device has a flip up clear shield that protects the keyboard when not in use and props your iPad or other tablet up when you open it.
While the photo shows use with the iPad, I don’t see anything that would limit this particular keyboard dock from working with that Apple device alone. It should work with any tablet or smartphone that supports Bluetooth keyboards. Other than the keyboard on top, the device also has speakers integrated into each side of the station that allows accessories for iPad suppliers to stream your Bluetooth music or audio from video you might want to watch.
The device also has a universal 3.5 mm input for devices lacking Bluetooth, and it can charge up to two devices at one time using dual integrated USB ports. It also has an integrated microphone so you can use the docking station is a hands-free speakerphone or for video conferencing. The iDM5 is available right now for $129.99.

Besides ringing up record first-day sales and garnering mixed reviews, Apple’s new iPad was also greeted with a steady stream of iPad accessories to meet the demands of its growing user base. Griffin called it new Survivor case “the most protective case we’ve ever built.” The hard shell is a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in shock-absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector seals the iPad’s new Retina display from the outside environment, while hinged plugs seal the dock connector, camera lens, headphone port, hold switch and volume controls. The included stand clips on, then folds open for landscape viewing and typing.
The Survivor is certified to meet or exceed the U.S. Department of Defense’s military standard 810F for extreme conditions. Survivor was also independently tested and verified to meet or exceed environmental testing standards for blown rain, blown dust and grit, vibration,
shock, temperature and humidity, the company said. Griffin is also shipping its IntelliCase for the new iPad, a stand and foldable folio case with back shell and automatic wake-up closure. The back shell is protective polycarbonate and the front is made of flexible micro-tectured TPU, which folds back to make an upright workstand. Magnets in the front cover wake the iPad when the case is open power it off when the case is closed.
The Sound Cover, from Onanoff, is an ultra-thin thermoplastic iPad shell with built-in rechargeable flat NXT stereo speakers. An integrated brushedaluminum speaker stand supports the accessories for iPad suppliers in multiple positions and acts as a bass booster. The Sound Cover shows much improved low frequency performance as it reaches down to approximately 150Hz compared with the iPad’s speakers, which reach 400Hz, Onanoff said. Male vocals sound fuller and more natural, while low frequency instruments sounds are reproduced more accurately.
Much of the high frequency performance of the iPad built-in speakers radiates to the side of the user, so any high frequency output only reaches about 10kHz. In contrast, the Sound Covers boosts high frequency performance up to 15kHz, the company said.Comprehensive Cable is Offering a USB charging adapter for the iPad, for those who wish to charge their device from a USB-equipped PC or older Mac. Since standard USB ports cannot provide enough power to fully charge an iPad, the bridge device boosts the USB ports’s 500 milliamps of power to charge an iPad in six to eight hours. Charging continues even after the iPad goes into sleep mode, the company said. The adapter is white and weighs about a quarter of an ounce.

Microsoft spent a big chunk of MWC today telling everyone about Windows 8 and if you’re the coding type, the news gets even better. If invited, you’ll be expecting something nice in the mail to arrive from Redmond very shortly. It’s sending out test accessories for iPad suppliers powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 that includes the beefy LTE, camera and sensor gear we played with in our hands-on. It’s intended to give developers a head-start in building and refining Metro-style apps ahead of the operating system’s big debut. You can check out the consumer preview of what was shown today here and if you’d like to know more, head on past the break for a sprinkling of PR.
Update: It’s not just Qualcomm giving away ARM silicon for free, looks like NVIDIA will be distributing Windows 8 machines powered by its Tegra 3 SoC too. PR’s after the break.

Remember that glasses-free 3D Qosmio F750 (aka F755 in the US) gaming laptop we saw last year? We’re not sure how many of them Toshiba has sold, but the company’s PR folks tell us they’ve been popular enough to justify a further 15.6-inch glasses-free model — a Satellite P855, which will have a more mainstream target audience. We’re looking at exactly the same lenticular tec
hnology, which uses a webcam to adjust the 3D effect to the user’s head movements, and which delivers effective results if you sit relatively still and give your eyes a chance to adapt. This time, however, the effect is delivered within a textured aluminum chassis that will likely appeal to a wider audience than the red-styled garishness of the Qosmio. The price tag has yet to be disclosed, but that should also be more appealing, since the Satellite range starts at £599 ($940). The P855 won’t arrive until Q2 and Toshiba wasn’t ready to reveal any concrete specs concerning the processor or graphics, other than saying this laptop is aimed at mainstream 3D gaming as well as Blu-Ray consumption. We asked about memory and storage too, but with no success — all we could glean is that there are four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, Intel WiDi for direct WiFi beaming of 1080 video to a bigger screen, plus Harmon Kardon speakers. C’mon Tosh, give us Ivy Bridge paired with a 28nm Kepler GPU and make the world happy.

Since the launch of the iPad, most Americans have shifted towards the use of this mobile device for surfing the web. According to 2009 Semi-annual US wireless industry survey conducted by the International Association for the Wireless Telecommunications Industry (CTIA), some 64.81 percent of Americans own either an iPhone or an iPad. The same association has it that some 91 percent of Americans own a mobile device. This translates to 285 million people.
All these people will need accessories for iPad suppliers for their mobile devices such as iPhone cases and covers at some point. Below are some cheap iPad accessories that will fit in with your device and provide you with a whole new user experience from your device.
-The apple digital AV adapter enables you to display anything that is on your iPad screen straight onto your HDTV. This includes photos, movies and slide shows. The AV adapter is compatible with any HDMI enabled display unit such as the video projection screens and widescreen TVs. Electronic experts refer to this as mirroring of the iPad contents onto the bigger display units. It can also be used in the routing of digital audio signals to any compatible screen. During the mirroring process, the AV adapter is equipped with a 30 pin digital connector that allows for charging of the iPad accessories. This eliminates the fear of having the batteries run out during a vital meeting or during an exciting movie.
-The iPad smart cover is next in line. This thin and durable cover offers much more than a normal case. It aligns itself magnetically for that perfect fit. It is designed to automatically sleep and wake up your device. It can be customised to achieve that ultimate personal connection both on the inside and outside. It forms an elaborate stand for typing, watching movies as well as reading. The cover also allows for the use of conventional chargers and any other extension such as the Ethernet cable.
-If you love your photos, the camera connection set for the iPad stands suppliers is definitely a must have. It enjoys you to shoot photos anytime and anywhere using standard digital cameras and then import them onto the iPad. You can use the camera’s SD card or its USB cable to import the photos onto the iPad. The iPad supports several photo formats such as RAW, JPEG, and SD. It also supports MPEG-4 and H.264 which are HD formats for video.

If the iPad 3 dock connector parts pictured below are real, then the next generation tablet will feature a slimmer, smaller connector. Although the parts have the same 30-pin configuration, the form factor is streamlined and would result in incompatibilities with current dock connector accessories. The parts were revealed by accessories for iPad suppliers website and represent an iPad 3 prototype design.
There’s no telling if this iPad 3 prototype is the production model, however Macotakara claims the device is ready to be manufactured in January and could be released as early as March 2012. A change in the dock connector size would make the iPad 3 the first mobile device since the 2003 iPod not to use Apple’s standard size cables.
It’s possible that if a new connector is introduced on the iPad 3, other Apple products including the iPad stands suppliers would follow. A simple adapter could be produced for backward compatibility with larger dock connectors assuming the 30-pin innards of the parts have not changed. A smaller connector would give Apple more latitude in designing even thinner and lighter mobile devices.
Macotakara also reported that the iPad 3 would feature the same size screen as the iPad and iPad 2, however it’s not clear whether or not Apple will increase the screen resolution. Previous leaks indicated Apple was already testing retina displays for a future iPad design. The model with a higher-resolution display might even be sold next to a standard screen model, and named the iPad Pro.
Leaked components have a mixed track record when it comes to predicting the final product released to consumers. Such a drastic change to the iPad connector would certainly be a big jump and force current Apple device owners to run out and purchase updates to iPad accessories. A spring 2012 release would keep the iPad on an annual refresh cycle. We may have to wait until then for definitive proof that the dock connector has been redesigned.
