July 8, 2008, the Group of Eight leaders agreed with the long-term greenhouse gas emission reduction target, the eight countries seek to achieve the long-term goal of reduce global greenhouse gas emission at least half by 2050 with the "United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" and the other parties together, and discussed to pass the goal with these countries in the negotiations of the Convention.
